PURPOSE OF THE COURSE
- To explain the purpose of an QMS, OHS, EMS and FS management system and the business and societal benefits of improving performance.
- To explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up a management system audit in accordance with ISO19011 and ISO 17021 where appropriate.
- To plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of an Integrated Management System to establish conformity (or otherwise) in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO/IEC 17021 where appropriate).

- Comprehend the competency requirements for the Programme Manager, Lead Auditor, Auditors, and Technical Reviewers.
- Understand how to evaluate, maintain, and improve these competencies.
- Comprehend the establishing and management of an audit programme.
- Be familiar with the audit process (certification and internal audit).
- Understand the preparation requirements for conducting a Stage 1Audit.

PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
- Prior to attending this training course, learners are expected to havethe following prior knowledge:
- ISO 19011:2018.
- Management systems, principlesand concepts:
- Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
- Process-approach.
- Risk-based thinking.
- The core elements of a Management Systems.
- The interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continual improvement.
- The requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001, 22000 and 45001 management systems.
- Terms and definitions, as given in ISO 9001, 14001, 22000 and45001.
ASSESSMENT
- Through tutor-led discussions, exercises, workshops and role-plays, students will gain sufficient knowledge and skills in the entire auditing process and get prepared as an Integrated Management System professional.
- Throughout the course you will work through a case study focusing on several practical examples of activities in the audit process.
- After completing the online components of the course there is an Assessment Workbook (Practical Workbook) that must be completed and submittedfor marking.
- Course duration is 50 hours (Virtual Classroom training) excluding a4 – hour written examination.

- The written examination consists of 4 types of questions :
- Multiple choice.
- Mix and match.
- True or false.
- Written responses to interpretation questions.
- Learners must achieve a total of 50% overall (50% must be achieved in each section).
- Learners who fail the examination shall be allowed one re-sit with a different examination paper to that which they sat originally.
- The re-sit must take place within 3 months of sitting the original examination.
- Learners who fail the re-sit must re-take the entire course if they wish to gain a “Certificate of Successful Completion” of the course.
