  • Assist with day-to-day operational functions as requested by the service line manager.
  • Ensure auditors on your projects have the required equipment to conduct the audits.
  • Ensure all auditors are adequately trained and that daily follow-ups are done on auditors that do not meet the client's requirements. Refresher training/ calibration where an auditor is not performing is to be done if the query is raised 3 times against the same auditor.
  • Ensure all the auditors are aware and have been trained on the micro requirements of each client.

The purpose of this position is to conduct the testing of samples submitted to the laboratory so that work is completed within the required turnaround times.

Requirements

  • National diploma in biotechnology or BSC degree in microbiology.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in microbiology laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct simple and complex test independently.
  • Verification of results independently and interpret data against known sources of information.
  • Improve laboratory efficiency.
  • Ensuring adherence to departmental TAT’s and early warnings to direct supervisor of any delay on TAT.
  • Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
  • Responsible for upkeep of laboratory instrument and notification to management of calibration and service requests.
  • Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performance in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
  • Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility.
  • Maintaining acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted.
  • Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
  • Managing consumable costs.
  • Timely completion of all reporting requirements and responses to any team member as required.
