-
South Africa`s only Biotoxin accredited laboratory (Seafood products)
-
South Africa’s first Asbestos Accredited Laboratory (Asbestos Fibre Counting and Fibre Identification)
-
Occupational Hygiene Testing Laboratory (NIOSH Accredited Methods)
-
Specialised Salmonella Serotype Testing
-
Microbiological Laboratory
Microbiological Laboratory
We offer a broad range of services for microbiological testing of swabs, water samples for all the major pathogenic, indicator and spoilage microorganisms.
Other analysis conducted by the microbiological laboratory include but not limited to:
-
Bacteriology
-
Pathogens
-
Water testing
-
We are DALRRD approved for meat import testing
-
Chemistry Laboratory
Chemistry Laboratory
Assurecloud’s chemical laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art chromatographic and mass spectrometric instruments in support of our endeavours to consistently provide the best analytical and testing services. Our services include the determination of the physical and chemical characteristics of test samples and the identification and determination of target components in a variety of matrices, including food, feed, water, environmental and products. The target components are determined by client needs.
Analysis conducted by the chemical laboratories include but not limited to:
-
Nutritional labelling according to Reg.146
-
Specialised Dairy and milk analysis e.g. fat and protein using Rose Gottlieb and Kjeldahl method
-
Heavy metals in food, fish and feed for export markets
-
Biotoxins in seafood
-
Water testing according to SANS 241
-
Mycotoxins
-
Allergens

Diagnostic & Veterinary Laboratories
Diagnostic & Veterinary Laboratories
Assurecloud has the ability to isolate and identify viruses and bacteria from sick animals using traditional microbiological methods as well as molecular techniques, thus aiding veterinarians in a diagnosis and treatment plan in support of the poultry sector and the growth of this sector that supports food security in the country to a large degree.
The Bacteriology Laboratory can also perform antimicrobial sensitivity tests using the disc diffusion method on those bacteria. Assurecloud also performs the much-valued Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) antimicrobial sensitivity test thus enabling the Veterinarian to determine the optimum dose of an antibiotic required for treatment.
Assurecloud offers a host of serological test methods to evaluate the presence of antibodies to specific pathogens in the serum of animals, regardless of whether antibodies have developed because of exposure to disease or because of vaccine application.
To ensure that the results generated in our Serology department are of international standard Assurecloud participates in several proficiency schemes conducted by GD Animal Health Service in Deventer, Holland. Assurecloud has always generated results within highly acceptable limits for these tests. Serology testing: E.g. Bovine Leucosis, Para-influenza Virus 3 (PI-3), Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus (BRSV), Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus (BVDV), Q-Fever and Liver Fluke, Newcastle Disease Virus and Avian Influenza Virus Rapid diagnosis of disease using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology is also available: For e.g., Bluetongue Virus; African Horse sickness; Rift Valley Fever and Lumpy Skin Disease.
The laboratory has been approved by DALRRD to test reportable diseases. The lab works closely with Department Animal Health and is often used as the reference laboratory for disease control and monitoring along with the state laboratories.
Extent of tests offered:
-
Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)
-
Haemagglutination Inhibition (HI)
-
Rapid Plate Agglutination (RPA)
-
Identification of animal DNA
-
Molecular Testing including PCR for Avian Influenza
